Dear Sunny Gymnastics’ Parents:

As our businesses starts to reopen, please understand we may have just survived one of the hardest professional and personal challenges we have ever faced. Our anticipated re-open date will be Tuesday, May 26, 2020. In an effort to minimize any unnecessary risks to the health of our athletes, parents and staff, initially we will be opening only with limited occupancy capacity in the facility and will be implementing some new policies as we transition back to regular operations. These policies will change as we navigate through the re-open phase and we are better able to evaluate gymnastics sport practice with social distancing.

Please read carefully the precautionary measures information that was sent out earlier today, or refer to our website for further information.

(UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE):

  1. Hours of operations: Monday-Friday 3:30 to 8:30 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM-12:00 PM

  2. Capacity will be limited to 50%. Our website will be updated regularly with the actual number of people in the facility at any given point in time.

  3. Your membership will be unfrozen upon your first visit back to the gym. Your account will be automatically prorated and any credit you may have will be automatically applied to your membership dues. Regardless of the balance due you may have; it must be paid within the first 5 days of the month of June! (unless you have reached out and donated your credit to help us cover some of the expenses, we have had to incur these past two months – THANK YOU!)

  4. Team practices for the present week are as follows:

Tuesday, May 26, and Thursday, May 28, 2020

5:30 to 8:30 PM  X-cell Silver   and     Level 6

Sunny Gymnastics is committed to the health and safety of our athletes, parents, staff and community. We are monitoring the CDC and state and local governments carefully in order to be fully opened for our entire community. These have certainly been difficult times for everyone. We would like to thank those who have continued sending their well wishes.

We still have a long way to go in order to get back to “normal” but the support of our community will help us all get there.

Dear Sunny Gymnastics Family,

We hope this newsletter finds you safe and well. Here at Sunny Gymnastics, we have settled into the new normal. Navigating COVID-19 is a challenge for us all, but thanks to an impressive collective effort we are responding strategically and swiftly.

Like so many of you, we’re adapting to an evolving crisis in real time. However, one thing remains consistent: our goal is always to protect our children, parents, staff members and our communities.

Together, we will press forward and go further. SG will be opened for all of our regular programs as soon as the county give us the green light; hopefully very soon.

We wanted to share with our loyal customers the precautionary measures being taken by our gym.

New Protocols:

  • We have enhanced our routine cleaning procedures by disinfecting high-touch surfaces at our facility. SG’s entire area is being professionally sanitized daily with approved disinfectants.

  • We encourage both our employees and our customers to avoid shaking hands and to maintain safe social distance. Coaches are prohibited from coming to the gym if feeling sick, and we ask the same from our customers.

  • In order to limit the bodies in the building, we highly encourage parents or guardians to drop off and pick up kids only. There will be stipulated entrance and exit doors. Athletes will be escorted from the entrance door into the gym by a coach.

  • We reserve the right to temperature check your child at the entrance door and send your child home if we suspect illness. We will require a doctor’s note to return to SG. We will also require 14-day quarantine for athletes who test positive for COVID-19 or who come in contact with COVID-19.

  • Please! Be cautious when choosing to send your child to SG. We rely on you during this time to keep our SG family safe.

  • Coaches and athlete interaction: a coach’s job is to ensure safety and success for our athletes. While our coaches will be keeping more distance than usual from the athletes, we cannot guarantee that they will not be in contact with your child. We are encouraging our coaches to:

    1. Limited spotting – only when necessary.

    2. No high- fives, hugs, or assistance with hair.

    3. Coaches will not be wearing mask, (except at the gym’s lobby).

    4. All coaches will be temperature checked prior to their shift.

    5. Any coach that suspects illness or has an ill family member will be asked to stay home.

  • All skill stations, events, and warm up areas are more separated than usual. All athletes will be assigned to their own station (not partnered). Athletes will be sent for water individually during an event, rather than sending groups in-between events (gymnasts will be required to bring their own water).

  • Classes will temporarily run 5 minutes shorter, so coaches can clean all mats and surfaces after each class. – We will encourage frequent hand washing for all athletes.

  • Please stay involved; prepare your child by familiarizing them with our new procedures. We are here to help – feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

  • We will gradually go back to what used to be by monitoring COVID-19 developments and following CDC guidelines.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and support during this uncertain time, wishing you success in the weeks to come!

We can’t wait to see everyone soon! Until then, STAY SAFE!
